Welcome from our Program Director

Welcome to Oak Hill Hospital’s Geriatrics Fellowship program!

About our program

Successful completion of the following is required before an interview offer can be extended:

  • USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK (allopathic)

OR

  • COMLEX Level 1 and Level 2 CE (osteopathic)

In addition to the above, successful completion of the following is required for ranking:

  • Step 2 CS (allopathic)

OR

  • COMLEX Level 2PE (osteopathic)
  • ECFMG Certificate if an IMG (unless currently enrolled)

Applicants must meet the requirements for a restricted license for residency in the State of Nevada. View the requirements on the Nevada medical examiners board website.

Must be no more than three (3) years from medical school graduation; any gap must be satisfactorily explained.

The following application documents are required to be considered for an interview:

  • MSPE (Dean's letter)
  • Medical school transcript
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • USMLE/COMLEX scores
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation from physician faculty members with whom you have worked directly.
  • ECFMG Certificate (if applicable)
  • Photograph

The Transitional Year Program’s mission is to develop the next generation of physicians and physician leaders. As a part of HCA Healthcare, we are driven by a single mission: Above all else, we are committed to the care and improvement of human life.

This program is designed to offer residents a rewarding, educational environment where residents are provided individualized learning opportunities by faculty and staff who support and sustain one another throughout quality care delivery. Our faculty are committed to ensuring the residents clinical experience and educational needs are fulfilled while expanding residents’ perspectives to be inclusive of cultures, values and ideals.

Program overview

Our Selection Committee considers the ENTIRE application when selecting candidates to interview. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted.

Interviews begin each year in late October and conclude in early January. Applications are only accepted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System). We do not review applications or CVs via mail. We participate in the NRMP (National Residency Match Program), and adhere to their guidelines.
