Chief executive officer
Alexis Mussi was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in May 2019. In her role, Alexis oversees and is responsible for Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, which includes an 80 bed behavioral health unit, the Pavilion, as well as the free standing emergency room, ER at the Lakes. Previously she served as Chief Operations Officer of Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center. Alexis has been with HCA since May 2008.
Alexis holds a Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Business and Communication from Arizona State University, and earned her Master of Public Administration Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
Chief operations officer
Cullen Brown was appointed Chief Operations Officer of Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in July 2019. In his role, Cullen oversees the operations of the emergency, department, surgical services department and other areas of the 246 bed facility. Before coming to Southern Hills Hospital, Cullen served as the Vice President of Operations at Los Robles Medical Center, an HCA Far West Division Facility in Thousand Oaks, California.
Brown studied economics at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. From there he moved to Richmond, Virginia and received his Master in Health Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Chief financial officer
Jennifer Le joined Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center in April of 2014 as Chief Financial Officer. Jennifer's oversight includes all financial activities, such as budgeting, forecasting and planning. She began her career with HCA in 2002 and has worked at multiple hospitals including St. Mark's in Utah, and MountainView in Las Vegas.
Jennifer's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Utah.
Chief nursing officer
Amelia Russell was appointed Chief Nursing Officer of Southern Hills Hospital and Medical center in March 2018. As CNO, Amelia has executive oversight for all nursing and surgical operations.
Amelia holds a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Illinois, Chicago. Amelia's experience also includes vast stroke-related research and several published articles on stroke treatment.

Brian Cook, MBA
Brian Cook was appointed to President of HCA Healthcare's Far West Division in March 2018. In his role, Brian is responsible for the management and operations of 8 hospitals, free-standing emergency rooms and surgical centers spanning the Southern Nevada and the Southern/Northern California markets. Previously he served as Chief Executive Officer of North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida and has been with HCA for over fifteen years.
He earned his bachelor's degree from Florida State University and his MBA at Rollins College's Crummer Graduate School of Business.
Steve Killian, MHA, MBA
Chief financial officer
In December of 2015 Steve Killian was named Chief Financial Officer of HCA Healthcare's Far West Division. Steve's oversight includes all financial activities, including accounting and budgeting, along with operational strategies such as forecasting, trends and planning. He has been with HCA Healthcare for over 16 years in the Southern Nevada market and was most recently the CFO at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He has a bachelor's degree from Brigham Young University and two master's degrees from the University of Utah.
Joe Corcoran, DO, FACOG
Chief medical officer
Dr. Joe Corcoran accepted the position of HCA Healthcare Far West Division's Chief Medical Officer in December 2018. Dr. Corcoran oversees all clinical and quality services across the Division. He has been with HCA Healthcare for over seven years and most recently was the CMO of Brandon Regional Hospital in Brandon, Florida. Prior to becoming a part of the hospital administration team, Dr. Corcoran spent over 20 years in direct patient care as a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist.
He is a graduate of the Nova-Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his OB/GYN residency at Temple University Hospital.
Shari Chavez, MHA, RN, CENP
Chief nurse executive
In June 2016, Shari Chavez was named Chief Nurse Executive of HCA Healthcare's Far West Division. Chavez is responsible for nurse and physician collaboration and service initiatives like patient experience, nursing recruitment, retention and development. She has a long-standing career with HCA and prior to her current role she was the Chief Nursing Officer at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado.
She earned a Master's degree in Health Care Administration from the University of St. Francis.
Cae L. Swanger
Chief information officer
Cae Swanger is Chief Information Officer for HCA Healthcare’s Far West and Mountain Divisions. Managing a multi-faced team that supports clinical applications, imaging systems, pharmacy systems and custom applications leveraged by 23,000 caregivers, Cae develops the strategic IT direction for the two operating divisions that incorporates major initiatives championed by HCA Healthcare that allows for local adoption and acceptance by hospitals, surgery centers and free-standing emergency rooms in California, Nevada, Alaska, Idaho, and Utah. Cae joined HCA Healthcare in 2001 as Director of IT. Prior to that, had a successful career in the Hi Tech industry progressing from application developer roles, into systems and network engineering roles, ultimately moving into leadership positions.
She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Reno, and earned her MBA-Healthcare Management from Western Governors University in 2016.
