Scott Scherr, who's an emergency medicine physician at ER on the Lakes, says emergency rooms tend to see a spike in visits during the summer -mostly heat related from sun burn to the more serious heat strokes. He suggests making sure you know where the closest emergency room is.
"We don't know when things are going to happen. We don't know when we're going to get sick. We don't know when we're going to need to have emergency care so just know where your nearest emergency department is."
