Las Vegas, Nevada – May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and with the current COVID-19 pandemic, Southern Hills Hospital wanted to be a mental health resource for those in our community. Normally, during the Month of May Southern Hills Hospital would host physician lectures for the community, but with gatherings limited, the hospital turned their efforts online.
The current circumstances have tested many people’s mental health, so the topic of discussion was: ”Emotional and Physical Wellness During COVID-19”.
Dr. Upinder Singh, works at Southern Hills Hospital’s behavioral health unit, The Pavilion, and hosted the Facebook Live. Dr. Singh provided multiple tips including meditation, positive thinking, and making plans to help people dealing with emotional problems during the lockdown and pandemic.
Dr. Singh’s Facebook Live discussion reached 19-hundred people.
Southern Hills Hospital plans to continue these virtual outreach efforts. For more information on the next Facebook Live Discussion visit Southern Hills Hospital’s Facebookpage.
Information regarding when normal classes will resume can be found on the Southern Hills website.
