Las Vegas, NV – Southern Hills Hospital is excited to announce its upcoming FREE Teddy Bear Clinic, an event designed to help children become more comfortable with medical settings in a fun and engaging way. The clinic will take place Thursday, June 27th, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Southern Hills Hospital & Medical Center inside the Education Room.
This family-friendly event is open to the public, but registration is required to attend. Interested participants can register online through the Southern Hills Hospital website at www.southernhillshospital.com click on community resources then classes and events to register.
The Teddy Bear Clinic will provide children with a FREE teddy bear, stethoscope and goodie bag. Kids will go through a series of “medical” stations. At these stations, kids will have the opportunity to perform a check-up on their teddy bears, including listening to their hearts, checking their eyes and ears, and even applying a splint to a "broken" arm or leg. This hands-on experience aims to familiarize children with basic medical procedures in a non-threatening way, reducing the fear and anxiety that often accompany hospital visits.
“We’re thrilled to offer this event as a fun and educational opportunity for children in our community,” said Alexis Mussi, Chief Executive Officer of Southern Hills Hospital. “Our goal is to help children feel more comfortable in a hospital setting by making the experience enjoyable and interactive. By role-playing as doctors, they learn that hospitals are safe places where people go to get better.”
In addition to the interactive stations, the event will give children a chance to meet some of Southern Hills Hospital’s friendly medical staff. The Teddy Bear Clinic is part of Southern Hills Hospital’s ongoing commitment to community outreach and education, helping to build trust and comfort between our youngest community members and the healthcare providers who care for them.
Parents are encouraged to register their children as soon as possible to secure a spot, as spaces are limited.
