Las Vegas, NV - Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center continues to be a resource for expectant mother’s during the pandemic. Usually, Mother’s and significant others are invited to the hospital for classes and tours, but the hospital has since paused those efforts. Instead, the hospital is now offering virtual classes so families can get vital information from the comfort of their home. The first virtual class done on Facebook live was prenatal breastfeeding, which was hosted by mother-baby nurse and lactation counselor, Adriane Miles.

Miles began with breastfeeding basics and then took questions from viewers. The virtual class reached 17-hundred people, and garnered more than 360 questions and comments. The class was scheduled to last for 30 minutes but because of the participation, ran for nearly two hours.

Southern Hills Hospital will continue to do these live classes. The first Tuesday of every month at 11AM Adriane will host prenatal breast feeding, every third Tuesday of the Month at 11AM she will do a general breastfeeding support class.

Everyone is welcome to watch, and everyone is encouraged to bring their questions. To view these classes live visit Southern Hills Hospital’s Facebook page.

Information regarding when normal classes will resume can be found on the Southern Hills website.
