Las Vegas, NV — Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center is pleased to announce that Domenic Martinello MD, MBA, CPHQ, has been named as the hospital’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO). AS CMO, Dr. Martinello will play a vital role in developing strategies while working with physician leaders to advance healthcare in the Las Vegas community.
Dr. Martinello is a board certified emergency room physician with experience in trauma life support and also a certified professional of healthcare quality. His expertise is in emergency medicine, and has more has more than 11 years’ experience. Dr. Martinello has also served in various positions throughout his medical career including Vice President of Medical Staff, and EMS Medical Director.
"I'm extremely excited to take on this leadership position for Southern Hills Hospital," Dr. Martinello said. "The Southern Hills Hospital team has so much talent and I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue to serve the Las Vegas community."
Most recently Dr. Martinello was a partner and owner of the Greater Newburyport Emergency Physicians. In this role he oversaw business operations, the corporate budget and managed physicians and staff.

Dr. Martinello earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno. During his residency, he became the Chief Resident for Emergency Medicine at the Maimonides Medical Center, and was named Resuscitation Resident of the Year. Dr. Martinello also has his Masters in Business Administration from UMASS Amherst Isenberg School of Management.
Beyond serving the community, Dr. Martinello served the country as well. He was an infantry soldier for the Massachusetts National Guard and was also a combat medic for the Nevada National Guard.
He has been featured in the New York Times and won the "40 Under 40 award" from the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Martinello's first day will be April 20th, 2020.
