Las Vegas, NV - Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center typically offers multiple Women’s Services classes to the community, from breastfeeding to prepared childbirth. One of the most popular classes was the New Sibling Class. The New Sibling Class helps parents and siblings prepare for the new baby. Older siblings can feel neglected when all of the attention is on the new baby, this can cause them to lash out or act out.

The class is split up into a portion for the older siblings, and a portion for the parents.

Nurse Adriane hosted the first virtual New Sibling Class live on Facebook. The class reached more than 15-hundred people. Parents watched with their children, and Nurse Adriane took questions live. Some parents entered questions their children had, other parents asked Adriane for tips and tricks.

The goal of the New Sibling Class is to make it a seamless transition when the new baby is brought home.

Information regarding when normal classes will resume can be found on the Southern Hills website.
