Working together at Southern Hills Hospital has become this family’s purpose: May Hornilla and her two kids Al De Los Reyes from the Emergency Department and Aubrielle De Los Reyes from the Intermediate Care Unit.
Originally from the Philippines, this family grew up watching their mom work hard – as a single mother and a full-time nurse. As Aubrielle said, “If only me and my brother could be half as good as our mom, we would consider our lives a successful one.” May paved the way and inspired her children to follow in her footsteps. She would always talk about the wonderful things happening at work and speak highly of the Southern Hills family.
Even they they’re in different department and work different shifts, they still enjoy seeing each other from time to time in the halls. Being a family of nurses working at the bedside in the same hospital allowed them to fully understand each other more – the highs, lows, and everything in between that you would encounter at work. This opportunity has not only strengthened their relationship but also deepened their bond. They are each other’s greatest support system and love working together at Southern Hills.
