Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center has served the Clark County community with prompt access to emergency care for more than 20 years. We diagnose and treat patients quickly and accurately when every second counts. Our emergency rooms (ERs) are staffed 24/7 by ER physician specialists, highly trained ER nurses and a staff of experts committed to serving patients in need.

Our emergency services

Each patient that comes to our ER receives prompt evaluation through our Triage Program. This ensures we determine the level of care needed, start diagnostic treatments quickly, order medications if needed and begin life-saving interventions as fast as possible.

Common emergent conditions that bring adults and children to our ER include:

  • Abdominal pain
  • Animal bites
  • Asthma attacks
  • Chest pain in adults
  • Croup in children
  • Cuts, abrasions and deep bruises
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Fainting, sudden dizziness or weakness
  • Fever not controlled with medication in children
  • Injuries requiring stitches
  • Low-speed motor vehicle accidents
  • Minor burns
  • Minor head injuries
  • Possible broken bones, strains and sprains
  • Psychiatric emergencies
  • Sudden or severe pain
  • Vomiting and diarrhea

Emergency imaging services

Advanced digital imaging and other diagnostics are readily available at our ER. Emergency imaging services we offer include:

  • Computerized tomography (CT) scans
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Ultrasounds
  • X-rays

Our ER is also a Certified Primary Stroke Center recognized by The Joint Commission, demonstrating our excellent level of care in treating patients experiencing stroke, and an American Heart Association “Get with the Guidelines” Stroke Gold-Plus Quality Achievement Award winner.

Pediatric emergency care

We provide high-quality emergency care to children and adolescents. We know that our young patients need and deserve unique care. Our skilled emergency doctors and nurses are trained and experienced in providing children the compassionate, advanced care they need.

The emergency teams at our ERs treat pediatric patients with the utmost care and have direct access to Sunrise Children’s Hospital should the need for specialized care arise.

Southern Hills Hospital’s 24/7 emergency room is located on the main hospital campus. Emergency services are also available at ER at The Lakes and ER at S. Las Vegas Blvd, providing the greater Las Vegas area with life-saving care, diagnostic treatments and advanced digital imaging for patients of all ages. All of our emergency rooms are prepared for your arrival at a moment’s notice.

ER wait times

You can text “ER” to 32222 to check our average ER wait times. Note that ER wait times are approximate and provided for informational purposes only. If you are having a medical emergency, call 911.

The ER wait time represents the time it takes to see a qualified medical professional, defined as a doctor of medicine (MD), doctor of osteopathy (DO), physician assistant (PA) or advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP). ER wait times represent a four-hour rolling average updated every 30 minutes and are defined as patient arrival time until the time a qualified medical professional greets the patient. Patients are triaged at arrival and are then seen by a qualified medical professional in priority order based on their presenting complaint and reason for visit.
