Aging and mental health
Good mental health contributes to an overall feeling of well-being. Mental health disorders in older adults that are untreated can lead to decreased functioning, poor quality of life, substance abuse and increased mortality. Early intervention and treatment can help reconnect seniors to their previous healthy lifestyles.

Individualized treatments for our senior patients
The goal of our care plans is to reduce the severity and probability of mental health issues and to help patients achieve balanced lives. That's why we develop individualized care plans by evaluating each patient mentally, physically and socially. Whether a patient has had a high-impact life event or is going through a physical or emotional change, we are here to help them.
Our plans of care include:
- Active psychiatric treatment with 24-hour access to a physician
- An aftercare plan linked to the presenting behaviors that resulted in the admission and that address post-hospitalization needs
- Ensuring family and individual support systems are an active part of the treatment team to foster positive outcomes
- Ongoing contact with personal caretakers, medical caretakers and the facility (when appropriate for purposes of aftercare planning)
- Medication administration and monitoring
